Yesterday we took the Bus to Ronda, a little town 750 above sea level, in the NW corner of the province of Malaga.
Ronda is known for the deep Canyon and the river Guadalevin that divides the town in two halves. The canyon is 100 m deep with 3 bridges crossing.
Modern bull fighting started in Ronda. The Bull fighting ring, Plaza de Toros de Ronda was finished 1785. Even if you do not like Bull fighting the building is spectacular and in very good condition. The yearly bull-fighting event takes place in September.
If you ever visit Costa del Sol you should take a tour up in the mountains. Ronda has been a popular place among intellectuals. The American author Orson Welles ashes are buried in Ronda.
Have visited Ronda often in connection with mountain hiking in Montecorto, just outside of Ronda and on the edge of the Sierra de Grazalema Natural
Park. A lovely place….
It is a lovely place. Keep your eyes open for a Swedish boat that will be sailing in Main. Name is Unicorn.
