S/Y Distance Shores

In 2011 when we sailed to the Shetlands, we met Paul & Sheryl Shard on their Southerly 49. We had a nice dinner on one of the local restaurants in Lerwick and could exchange ideas.

Paul & Sheryl produce a TV Show, called Distance Shores. The shows  are available on DVD. You can order them on their excellent web page that have all kind of information.

Vickie and myself have seen most of them and can recommend them if you want to do some coach sailing in the dark winter months.

S/Y Stravaigin

In Lisbon we met Mike & Monica who are from Scotland.  They sail a beautiful steel boat that they built themselves.   Boy is that a nice looking boat!   It is a joy to look at her beautiful  lines and many details.

If you would happen to see them, I´m sure they give you the full tour.  Believe me, it is worth waiting for!

If you are not i the lucky situation that you can see the boat live, you can follow them here.

S/Y PANGEA ULTIMA

Our friends Per & Bitte started their adventure in May this year.  They sail something that once was a  Beneteau Idylle.   Today it is a lovely Deck Salon boat after years of hard work, first gutting the boat and then rebuilding it.

Per & Bitte

Per is a well-known face to all HR owners that have participated in the ARC.   Per and myself did many support events in Gran Canaria for HR owners that had signed up for ARC. We both shared the same dream, and it was painful to see the boats leave every year, knowing we had to go back on the plane to Sweden.
